Grilled Pound Cake with Fresh Berries and Vanilla Ice Cream
Slice the pound cake. Grill each side until toasted. Serve with vanilla bean ice cream and fresh berries.

Lemon Buttermilk Poundcake
½ lb unsalted butter, at room temperature
2 cups sugar
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
4 large eggs
3 egg yolks
½ cup buttermilk
1 tablespoon grated lemon zest
1 tablespoon strained lemon juice
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Set rack in lower third of the oven and preheat to 325. Butter a 10” tube or bundt pan and flour the buttered surface, shaking out the excess.
Combine the butter, sugar, flour, and baking powder in a mixer with a paddle. Beat on low speed 2 minutes. Combine the remaining ingredients and add them to the mixer in three additions, beating 1 minute between each addition. Scrape batter into prepared pan and bake about an hour. The cake should be well risen and colored. A knife inserted between the edge and tube should emerge clean. Place cake in its pan on a rack. When cool, remove from pan. Wrap tightley to store. Keeps well overnight.
