Easter and Passover are fast approaching! This week we will mention some accompaniments for your holiday dishes, as well as gift ideas for both young and old.
Try Terrapin Ridge Farms “Sweet Beet & Horseradish Mustard” , featuring chopped beets, Dijon and a hint of vinegar on your Passover brisket or roast…or a new twist with your gefilte fish.. It is also great as when tossed directly into a chopped salad with olive oil, ground pepper and goat cheese.
The traditional Easter ham can get an instant flavor burst with “Maine Maple Glaze” by Stonewall Kitchen. It is delicious as a glaze or served on the side..and better yet, your kids will love it!! Or, Try “Mustard with Fig” by L’Epicurien. This wonderful French mustard has a subtle sweetness and also serves well with all cheeses.
Don’t forget the Antipasti- we didn’t! “Caramelized Onions, Golden Raisins, and Fennel” by Bella Cucina makes a delightful condiment for ham and chicken, but also makes an instant bruschetta when broiled on a croustade with some melted cheese.
Easter Baskets with gourmet style!! Janet can make one for you or you can arrange it yourself. These are great hostess gifts filled with all kinds of Café Fleur treats, such as, pesto, salami, cheese, savory salt, and meyer lemon relish all nestled into a bunny bowl! Or, add an extra touch to the basket by including one of our fragrant hand soaps or candles.
For the kids Easter basket, we included gummy bears, jelly beans, chocolate, caramel popcorn and other sweet delights nestled in a fuzzy chick basket. We even have Bake at home “flower pot” bread and muffins…for the little chefs in your life!
A small gift idea are these raspberry chocolate truffle eggs in a “birds nest”. They are amazing!
